Lab-grown diamond is not moissanite or cubic zirconia.
Buyers often compare these stones because they can appear in similar jewelry settings. NKGEM keeps the material name clear before quoting so the buyer, certificate direction, setting plan, and final order all match the same product expectation.
Lab-grown diamond
A lab-grown diamond has the crystal structure of diamond and is grown in a laboratory environment. It should be described with its laboratory-grown origin and not presented as a mined natural diamond.
Moissanite
Moissanite is a different gemstone material. It can be used in jewelry, but it should not be described as lab-grown diamond or quoted as if it were the same product.
Cubic zirconia
Cubic zirconia is another different material often used as a diamond simulant. NKGEM does not describe cubic zirconia as lab-grown diamond.
